Our first appeals list produced some good antedatings, notably 'bicameralism' (1963 from 1966), which led to an earlier 1917 example, and 'maternalistic' (1941 from 1961). We hope the following might also be filled out and improved on:

happy-clappy n. and adj. (of evangelical Christians) [pre-1990]

lumber n. (esp. Scottish) a casual pick-up; a date [pre-1966]

pear-shaped adj. = awry, wrong [any evidence]

snake-bite n. = a drink of cider & lager mixed [pre-1983]

stonker n. = something impressive of its kind; a whopper [pre-1987]

stonking adj. = considerable; excellent [pre-1980]

trebly adj. (of esp. recorded sound) [pre-1978]
