Finding a word if you know the meaning but can't remember the term

Aim: to find the word which means rain falling from a cloudless sky

  1. Open the Full Text search panel by clicking [Show Simple Search form].

  2. Type rain into the input box.

  3. Make sure definitions is selected from the search area list box (marked full text by default).
  4. Click the [Show extra search options] button to reveal the proximity search options.

  5. Type cloudless into the bottom input box.

  6. Choose 5 words or fewer from the list box. (Your terms will occur within 5 words of one another.)

  7. Make sure the before button is selected. (RAIN will be found only where it occurs before CLOUDLESS, and not after.)

  8. Click [Perform Full Text search] to start the search.

  9. The results list is displayed. This shows only one result, serein.

  10. To go to the entry, click on its name.
